Gabriella Budd 2016 scholarship recipient2016 Ulster County Scholarship Award

 

The DeLisio Memorial Scholarship Award, Mid-Hudson Jr. Tour, and the UCWGA Female Scholarship recipient in 2016 goes to Gabriella Budd.

 

Gabriella is an Ellenville High School graduate.  She played varsity golf from 7th - 12th grade.  She was the first girl from Ellenville HS to make Sectional 9 and States.  Gabriella is a dedicated student and athlete. She has great work ethics and will be competing on a Division 2 level golf team in college.  She will be attending East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania where she will be majoring in Criminal Justice. Ulster County Women’s Golf is pleased to award Gabriella Budd this years Female Scholarship Award Check of $1,000 and wish her all the best in the future.

The 2015 DeLisio Memorial Scholarship and the UCWGA Female Scholarship recipient this year went to Justine Kelly.  Justine is a New Paltz High School graduate and will be attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she will be majoring in Public Relations.  She competed in the 2015 Section 9 golf championship and was on three Championship golf teams.  Justine’s community outreach academics included:

  • Coordinator for a benefit concert (FAM JAM) for the Family of New Paltz
  • Member of the New Paltz School newspaper and
  • Was a dedicated student and athlete with excellent work ethics . 

Ulster County Women’s Golf is proud to award Justine with this years Female Scholarship Award of $1,000 and wish her all the best in the future.

 

2014 Ulster County Scholarship Award

This year’s 2014 Ulster County female recipient scholarship award goes to Caroline Roberto.  Caroline is a Highland High School graduate.  She will be attending Union College in Schenectady, NY

Her Ulster County and Regional achievements are:caroline roberto 2014 shcolarship winner

  • Time Herald Record 1st team 2013
  • Poughkeepsie Journal 1st team 2012 and 2013
  • 2012 Section 9 - 7th in sectionals
  • 2013 Section 9 - 2nd in sectionals
  • 2014 Section 9 - 3rd in sectionals
  • Caroline’s community academics are: National Honor Society - 7th graduating class, Marist College medalist in Science, Science Olympiad --Regional Competition and Vassar Hospital 2013 summer student program --53 hours as a volunteer in the Cancer Center, Caroline is a dedicated student and athlete,  She works extremly hard in the classroom and on the golf course.

 Chelsea Lapp is a Rondout Valley High School graduate.  UCWGA Cheslea Lapp Head shot(1)

She currently is attending Ulster County Community College

 and is majoring in Business.

Her Ulster County and Regional achievements were:

  • Two coach awards in varsity golf
  • Mid Hudson Jr. Tour award
  • Stone Dock Women’s Club Champion
  • Competed in regional sectionals in 2012 and 2013

Chelsea has been the only female member to participate in the varsity boy’s golf team for 4 years. Her dedication and commitment to her team and the sport that she loves has allowed her to overcome the many obstacles and stigmas associated with playing on the boy’s golf team.  Chelsea consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and a dedication to success.  Because she plays with the boy’s golf team, she must utilize the men’s tees during the golf season.  Chelsea has shown that she is a competitor and can out drive many of her male opponents.  As a senior, Chelsea was able to assist her coach in a leadership role with the team.

 

2012 Ulster County Scholarship Award

Katelyn Davis was a John A. Coleman High School graduate and is currently attending John Jay College of Criminal Justice.  She is very involved in sports yet she is also involved in class government. Her Ulster County achievements were:Katelyn Davis

  • Low score medalist honors for 5 matches this season
  • Ranked 13th in section 9 both Regional and State 2011 & 2012
  • MHAL Athletic league Fall & Spring all Academic list 2011 & 2012
  • Rookie of the Year 2010, MVP 2011 & 2012 and Founder and Captain of John A. Coleman’s first women’s golf team

Katelyn’s academic achievements were:

  • High Honors in Business Communication
  • Business Computer Applications and
  • Chemistry
  • Katelyn was also involved with many community service programs such as:
  • 4-H Club
  • Pennies for Patients Muscular Dystrophy Fundraising
  • Cellphones for Soldiers
  • Hudson Valley Senior Residence Visits and
  • Christmas Trees for Local Families
